The Automotive Aftermarket Industry is concerned with manufacturing, re-manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing of all vehicle parts, tools, equipment accessories and services, except those products which are used in the manufacturing of original equipment.
Goals of the AAAA
- To grow membership and unite all segments of the automotive aftermarket within Australia.
- To identify, prioritise and communicate industry issues providing leadership and direction on behalf of the membership.

There are over 27,000 automotive tradesmen who are members of the IAME. The IAME has its own offices in major cities in Australia and New Zealand. Branches of the Institute operate in capital cities as well as major rural centres and conduct regular technical meetings.

Motor Trade Association of Australia (MTAA)
The MTAA is the national peak body for the whole of the retail, service and repair sectors of the Australian automotive industry. The Association is a federation of the Motor Trades Associations and the Automobile Chambers of Commerce in each State and Territory together with the Service Station Association Limited (NSW).
MTAA - Structure of the Association
The Association's affairs are directed by a board on which each of the Member bodies is represented. The role of the Association is to:
- Raise awareness in the community of the trades’ significant contribution to Australia’s economy through its more than $60 billion dollar turnover and its employment of over 275,000 Australians.
- Convey and promote to governments the interests of the trade.
- Promote improved working relationships and practices with motor trades’ unions.
- Provide information about the trades on behalf of the Members of the Association, to governments, the public and the trades’ employees.
- Work with governments in planning the future of the retail motor trades and their role in the economy and other areas of national planning.
- Extensively enhance training and to develop work opportunities within the trades in co-operation with education and training authorities, the unions and government generally; and
- Promote and enhance the reputation of the trades with their customers as well as with the general public.

Motor Trade Association Assured (MTA Assured) New Zealand
The MTA Assured is New Zealand's largest group of motoring businesses, committed to keeping New Zealand motorists on the road.
Members of the MTA represent all facets of the industry from automotive repairers, service stations, automotive electricians, and automotive dismantlers to specialists in alternative fuels, brakes and outboard power equipment, ensuring complete coverage of all motoring needs.
The MTA logo is recognised as a symbol of reliability, and many motorists look for the MTA sign as an assurance of quality workmanship.
The MTA has a mission to provide leadership and services to assist with the business success of its members. The MTA also plays a strong role in protecting the interests of its members' customers - the motoring public.
New Zealand Co-operatives Association (NZ Coop)
The Association is an incorporated society which was registered on 29 March 1984 as the NZ Agricultural Cooperative Association. On 26 May 1997, we became the New Zealand Cooperatives Association.
Purpose
The constitution of the Association lists the following objects:
- to encourage, promote and advance New Zealand cooperatives;
- to act as a representative Association for those engaged as cooperatives;
- to promote discussion and co-operation with decision makers at all levels of government designed to further the interests of the cooperative movement;
- to collect, verify, and publish information relating to the cooperative movement;
- to provide services and expertise to those engaged in the cooperative industry and to carry out research into all aspects of the movement.

Service Station Association Ltd (SSA)
The Service Station Association Ltd (SSA) is Australia's only organisation devoted solely to representing service stations and convenience stores. Established in 1935, the high-profile organisation lobbies Government and negotiates with oil companies and distributors on behalf of its members and has good working relations with Ministers, Government departments and oil company executives to get the best results.
The SSA also provides many services to help dealers with the day-to-day functioning of their business from entry through to exit. The motto of the organisation is:
"To support members in every aspect of their business and to promote policies for increased profitability"
The Association is independently owned and run by its members (service station dealers), and is a founding member of its Federation, the Motor Trades Association of Australia.
