    Hello everyone!

I trust that you’re all safe and well, and that we are all looking forward to some normality in the near future when the public are allowed back to work in greater numbers and we can get the engine room of our industry off idle and into some increased revolutions once more.

By now, as you are aware, Capricorn has cancelled all membership and supplier facing events until we are more confident that such events can be held from a government regulation, safety and enjoyment perspective.

This includes our Futures Collide Collision Repair Conference which was planned for late August this year. Given the serious situation in the USA and the lock down of international borders, we cannot accurately plan dates with Mike Anderson at this time.

We extend our thoughts and prayers for our industry colleagues in the USA and all other countries being severely impacted on by COVID-19.

In Capricorn’s panel world, we have been in constant communication with suppliers around continuity of supply of parts, and in almost all cases we have been assured that there are no expected shortages across most brands. Suppliers have been reducing deliveries as part of scaling down their workforce to comply with safe social distancing rules, as well as accommodating the slow down in the repair sector, especially in the first couple of weeks.

In this newsletter, we remind our members of the appointment of Podium and the services they offer which in this current environment are ever more important, how to improve the google ratings of your business as consumers conduct more searches for service online!

Monit have 2 offers for customers using their OH&S monitoring service, and a special trial offer for new customers. Orange Dog also have COVID centric offers in place for our members.

Training has received some valuable airtime and the number of companies now offering training in virtual classrooms has increased significantly. In this month’s edition, I-CAR CEO Mark Ctzvitkovits reminds us of what I-CAR has in place as well what they are doing looking ahead. We are thrilled to see the number of Capricorn members achieving Gold I-CAR status as they work through their training plans and equipping their staff for the fast changing industry we live in.

I have also participated in webinars with Chris Daglis from PARTnered Solutions and Chad Councelman from All Auto Recalls, getting insights on both local and international issues within the automotive recycling industry. A very common thread in these discussions is how the automotive recyclers can improve their product offering to repairers and the depth of work done by these businesses to improve these interactions with collision repairers and insurers.

Back to Futures Collide II. Mike Anderson is working with me to bring some of his courses to us in webinar format, so if there are any subjects you have interest in hearing Mike speak on, please head to The Workshop on our member portal and let me know!

Watch this space for an announcement on another OEM vehicle manufacturer joining Capricorn’s brand partner program as well as news from Hyundai on their parts program with Capricorn in our next issue!

From all of us at Capricorn, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you soon!
