Group Chief Executive Officer
David FraserMBA, GAICD, FAICD, FAIM, A FIN, FGIA
David has over 36 years' experience in the automotive industry and has held senior sales, marketing and general management roles over the past two decades. Prior to his appointment as Capricorn's Group Chief Executive Officer in July 2019 he was CEO of the co-operative's Automotive Division from 2013.
Before joining Capricorn in 2006 David was Group General Manager of Supply Direct, a wholly owned subsidiary of ASX listed Ausdrill, and responsible for its operations in Australia, United Kingdom, South Africa and West Africa. He was also a former Associate Director and Group General Manager of ASX listed Coventry Group Ltd and was responsible for the sales, marketing and administration of the Group's automotive businesses.
His 35+ years' experience and his thorough understanding of the market through his time in senior executive positions including how the supply and value chains interconnect to create and satisfy customer demand gives him a unique understanding and insight into the automotive industry both in Australia and globally.
In 2019 David received an Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award in recognition of his leadership, innovation, vision, work ethic and integrity which has made a positive and measurable impact to the ongoing development of Australia's Automotive Aftermarket Industry.
He is a current Director of various Capricorn subsidiary Boards, Director of the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals, Australia’s only peak body for co-operatives and mutuals across all industries, Deputy Chairman of the Co-operatives Federation of WA, and a Director of the Western Australian Motor Industry Foundation. He is also a former Director and past President of the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association.
David holds a Master of Business Administration, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. He is a Fellow of each of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institute of Management and the Governance Institute of Australia.
Chief Executive Officer Automotive
Bradley GannonB.Comm, LLB (Hons), GradDipACG, GAICD (OM), FGIA, FCG, FAIM
Bradley is Chief Executive Officer Automotive of Capricorn Society, responsible for its Automotive Division which operates in all parts of Australia and New Zealand. His accountabilities also include Group Marketing, Capricorn Travel and most importantly, the overarching Member experience at Capricorn.
Bradley was appointed as Company Secretary/General Counsel to Capricorn Society Limited in 2008 and his roles at Capricorn have included management of Capricorn group's company secretariat, legal and shares function, risk management, compliance and internal audit frameworks as well as Capricorn's Marketing function.
Bradley is accountable for the leadership and overall profitability of Capricorn's Automotive Division, developing and driving short, medium and long-term growth initiatives, new product development, marketing, promotion, Member and supplier services and expansion into new markets.
Bradley has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of WA and High Court of Australia. Bradley has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (with a major in General Management), both from the University of Western Australia.
Bradley has held senior positions including being a Partner with the Perth based law firm Solomon Brothers and his background has involved the provision of advice and services relating to corporate governance.
Bradley has passed the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Course Diploma requirements achieving Order of Merit status. He has also successfully completed the Chartered Secretaries Australia Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance receiving awards for National Dux Corporate Accountability, State Dux for Corporate Governance and Corporate Financial Management and the Ian Falconer Rio Tinto National award for academic excellence.
Bradley has also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Bradley is a current Director of various Capricorn subsidiary Boards and WA State Councillor of the Governance Institute of Australia.
Chief Executive Officer Capricorn Risk
Jim GlossatB.LegS, MBA, GAICD
Jim is an accomplished Senior Insurance Executive with over 25 years' experience in all facets of the general insurance industry including Product Management, Underwriting, Sales, Claims and Reinsurance. Senior positions held include Head of General Insurance, Senior Business Planning & Strategy Manager, National Product Manager, National Underwriting Manager, State Claims Manager and Senior Project Manager for organizations such as Westpac General Insurance, IAG and NRMA . Jim is respected within the insurance arena and is known as a highly experienced, results orientated, innovative and motivational leader who is able to create and sustain shareholder value in increasingly demanding financial and regulatory environments.
Jim's most recent appointment as Head of General Insurance for Westpac, Jim was accountable for $400m Gross Written Premium and had the task of improving the company performance by refocusing business priorities, enhancing existing pricing and claims management practices, optimising the overall operating model and raising staff engagement. Jim was very successful on all accounts whilst also improving existing relationships with various industry regulators. Some of Jim's major achievements in his career include winning an array of awards through his management of Westpac's response to the 2011 QLD flood crisis and an invite to speak at Federal Parliamentary Inquiry into claims management practices.
Jim achieved a MBA at the University of New England, also a Bachelor of Legal Studies at Macquarie University and also most recently completed the Company Director course in 2013. Jim is also a member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a Former chairman of ICA'S Insurance Contracts Act Review Committee.
Group Chief Information Officer
Jason FrostB.Bus, G.Dip.Fin.Plan, GAICD, CA, PMP
Jason has over 20 years business experience in both professional services across a number of industries and leadership roles in the Financial Services industry. Jason joined the Capricorn Executive Leadership team in November 2008 and since then has performed a number of roles at the Executive level that have included accountability for functions such as Audit, Risk and Compliance, Transactional processing, Facilities Management, Payroll, Capricorn Finance, Capricorn Travel, Human Resources, Marketing, Strategy Development, Projects Delivery, and Technology.
Now as Group CIO, Jason is accountable for the development, delivery and monitoring of all Capricorn Technology. Technology is critical to the delivery of Capricorns Business Strategy and Jason works closely with the Executive Leadership team to ensure there is alignment between Technology and Business Strategy. In addition, Jason's team drives the delivery of all internal projects at Capricorn, providing project governance frameworks and project management resources to execute the annual Group portfolio of strategic projects.
Jason's professional career began with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, working with clients in the Oil and Gas Industry, Engineering, Manufacturing and the Public Sector. Prior to Capricorn, Jason spent thirteen years working in the financial services industry in Sydney for the Westpac Banking Corporation in a variety of roles including internal audit, tax and compliance, IT systems management, operational risk management and project management. His role prior to joining Capricorn was with BT Wealth Management Group in Sydney as a Program Director for the Financial Planning part of the business working on projects to support the 700 BT Financial Planners working across Australia.
In addition to his broad experience Jason is a Chartered Accountant and holds formal post graduate qualifications in Financial Planning, Project Management and Process Improvement and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Group Chief Financial Officer
Wes SmithB.Comm, FCPA, GAICD, AICM
Wes is an accomplished executive with more than 20 years' experience within the areas of commercial finance and strategic management. Since commencing his career within Corporate Tax Advisory Wes has held a number of senior finance positions in Australia and Overseas for listed and private companies within the agricultural, utility, insurance and engineering sectors.
As an experienced leader, Wes is passionate about people development, customer service, process efficiency and supporting businesses in developing and achieving their strategic goals. Wes's relevant experience working with Cooperatives and Mutuals has seen him hold the positions of Group Financial Controller for the CBH Group in Perth and previous to that Group Finance Manager for Thomas Miller Insurance in London, New York and Hong Kong.
Wes holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Double Major in Accounting and Banking), is a Fellow of CPA Australia and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Wes is also a Non-Executive Director of JOC Wellness and Recovery Ltd, a not for profit with the focus on improving mental health within communities.
Wes joined Capricorn in October 2016 to manage and develop the Financial (Finance, Treasury, Tax & Credit) and Strategic Development functions for the Capricorn Group.
General Counsel & Company Secretary
Will BargmannBA (Hons); JD, GAICD
Will was appointed as Company Secretary/General Counsel to Capricorn Society Limited in July 2019. His role as head of the Corporate Services business unit includes management of Capricorn's legal, risk advisory, and internal audit teams, as well as the internal share registry.
Will is also involved in providing advice and assistance to the CSL Board and Group Chief Executive Officer in discharging Capricorn's corporate governance requirements in both Australia and New Zealand.
Will is admitted to practise law in Western Australia. He has previously been qualified to practise in England and Wales and Georgia (USA). He received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) magna cum laude from Davidson College and Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania.
Will has held senior positions as an in house lawyer both in the United Kingdom and Perth. Before joining Capricorn, he was the General Counsel and General Manager Corporate Services at Synergy, the electricity and gas retailer and generator owned by the state of Western Australia. At Synergy, Will was responsible for the key governance and compliance areas of legal, risk, internal audit, health and safety, environment, and energy regulation. He was also the Company Secretary.
General Manager Innovation & Corporate Development
Kim joined Capricorn in November 2021 in the newly created role as General Manager Innovation & Corporate Development. In this role, Kim will take the lead on exploring growth and expansion opportunities for Capricorn, working to build and grow innovation capabilities and an innovation strategy that will prepare our business for the future.
Prior to Capricorn, Kim worked at the P&N Group, a multi-brand mutual bank, as General Manager, Strategy & Corporate Development. Kim worked with the Group Board and executive team to develop a range of strategies including payments, open banking and Fintech partnerships, brand strategy, distribution, transformation and mergers and acquisitions.
Before joining the P&N Group, Kim was a Director in PwC’s Strategy Practice and held several roles at the Commonwealth Bank in Sydney spanning global markets, private banking and group strategy.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Economics (first-class honours) from the University of Western Australia. Kim is a CFA Charter holder and has completed the Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University.
General Manager - People & Culture
Kerryn is General Manager of People & Culture, responsible for our people assets across Australia and New Zealand. Her accountabilities cover recruitment, employee experience, organisational culture, learning and development, health and safety, organisational change management and internal communications.
Kerryn has a passion for people and knows that for Capricorns Members and Suppliers to grow stronger together it starts with the experience you provide your employees. As a shared service function Kerryn believes in truly partnering with the business to build lasting capabilities to enable key business outcomes.
Joining Capricorn during a time of unprecedented change and growth in 2020, Kerryn played a critical role in managing the functions of change management and internal communications, supporting a number of business-critical changes to successful implementation.
Kerryn joined the Capricorn executive team in 2022 to lead the people and culture of Capricorn through the exciting journey of transformation.
Prior to joining Capricorn, Kerryn’s extensive experience has established her reputation as a strategic thinker and enabler in major Western Australian companies across automotive, financial services and government agencies.
Kerryn holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia where she specialised in innovation and entrepreneurship. Kerryn applies the valuable skills, network and methodologies learnt therein in her management approach.
