Our Leadership Team

Brad is Group Chief Executive Officer of Capricorn Society. Prior to his appointment in January 2025, he was CEO of the cooperative’s Automotive division for 5 years.

Brad was appointed as Company Secretary/General Counsel to Capricorn Society Limited in 2008 and his roles at Capricorn have included management of Capricorn group's company secretariat, legal and shares function, risk management, compliance and internal audit frameworks as well as Capricorn's Group Marketing function.

Brad has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of WA and High Court of Australia. Brad has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (with a major in General Management), both from the University of Western Australia.

Brad has held senior positions including being a Partner with the Perth based law firm Solomon Brothers and his background has involved the provision of advice and services relating to corporate governance and contractual management.

Brad has passed the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Course Diploma requirements achieving Order of Merit status. He has also successfully completed the Chartered Secretaries Australia Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance receiving awards for National Dux Corporate Accountability, State Dux for Corporate Governance and Corporate Financial Management and the Ian Falconer Rio Tinto National award for academic excellence.

Brad has also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Brad is a current Director of various Capricorn subsidiary Boards and Independent Director of the Western Rock Lobster Council.

Andrea Hoskins is Chief Commercial & Operating Officer at Capricorn Society, responsible for leading the organisation's commercial, distribution and operational functions. She is focused on delivering sustainable growth, enhancing member outcomes and leading enterprise transformation to support Capricorn's long-term strategy.

Prior to Capricorn, Andrea was Chief Operating Officer at ASX-listed Pioneer Credit, where she led customer operations, digital, people and capability, risk and compliance, legal and enterprise delivery across Australia and the Philippines. She has also held several executive roles at HBF, leading strategy, mergers and acquisitions, health services and commercial operations.

With more than 20 years' experience across financial services, healthcare, retail and member-based organisations, Andrea brings deep expertise in strategy execution, large-scale transformation, operational leadership and organisational growth. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University, has completed executive studies through MIT, is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course and Director Pipeline Program, and is a WA Business News 40 Under 40 Award winner.

Damon de Nooyer is the Chief Financial Services Officer at Capricorn Society, bringing deep experience across insurance, financial services, risk, and governance.

He joined Capricorn in December 2023 as Chief Financial Officer, where he led the Finance function and provided executive oversight of Risk Advisory and Internal Audit. He has also served as Acting Executive for the Risk Division, overseeing risk, insurance, compliance, and assurance, and working closely with the Executive Team and the CML and CSL Boards. His strong commercial acumen, disciplined approach to risk management, and leadership have been instrumental in progressing Capricorn’s Powering Forward strategy and delivering strong enterprise and member outcomes.

With over 20 years’ experience in accounting and finance and more than 10 years in senior executive roles, Damon has successfully led complex, highly regulated portfolios across both public and private sector environments. He is recognised for building high performing teams and fostering cultures of innovation, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Prior to joining Capricorn, Damon was Chief Finance Officer at the Insurance Commission of Western Australia, one of the largest financial services institutions in the state, managing assets exceeding $7.5 billion. He led the Corporate Services Division, encompassing finance, human resources, and business services, provided secretariat support to the Audit and Risk Committee, and chaired the Strategic Initiatives and IT Governance Steering Committee.
 
Damon holds a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA), and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

Mary is a highly accomplished IT leader with a wealth of experience in IT, project management and leading business transformation. Mary has a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Business Administration and is working towards her Doctor’s Degree - Business Administration.

Mary has previously held roles at CBH Group, Dale and Waters, Wesfarmers and Chevron. As the Head of Business Systems at CBH Group, Mary managed complex technology programs and a multi-million dollar portfolio. This included the successful delivery of 53 enterprise-wide projects delivered on time and budget between 2019-2022.

Mary also successfully completed a three-phase enterprise-wide strategy to leverage cloud technologies, modernise legacy systems and consolidate applications yielding a multi-million dollar saving for CBH Group.

Neil is Chief Financial Officer of Capricorn Society. Prior to his appointment in August 2026, he was Deputy Group Chief Financial Officer of the Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia (RAC WA) where he worked in financial and commercial leadership roles in operating businesses and corporate functions since 2011. Prior to RAC WA, Neil held a variety of senior financial and commercial roles at Unisys, a global technology company, over 10 years in Sydney and Perth supporting the Asia Pacific region. Neil also has experience in the mining industry in corporate accounting roles.

Neil is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) with significant experience in financial and commercial leadership roles. His skills and experience include strategy, transformation, governance, compliance, financial and commercial support.

He is a Director at Venues West and Diabetes WA where he also Chairs both Finance and Risk committees. Prior to joining the RAC WA, Neil held a variety of senior financial and commercial roles at Unisys, a global technology company, over 10 years in Sydney and Perth supporting the Asia Pacific region. Neil also has experience in the mining industry in corporate accounting roles.

René Batchelor joined Capricorn as the Chief Legal, Risk and Governance Officer and Company Secretary in October 2025. René is responsible for ensuring Capricorn’s governance frameworks, legal operations and risk management practices are future-ready and aligned to evolving business needs.

René brings more than 15 years of legal and governance experience across a diverse range of sectors. Her career includes roles as Solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills, Legal Counsel at RAC (WA), Legal Counsel and Acting Legal Manager at RAC Insurance, and most recently, Chief Corporate Services Officer, General Counsel, and Company Secretary at the HMC Group of companies.

René holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Bachelor of Arts, and a Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management. She has a strong track record in legal management, corporate services, and company secretarial leadership with a particular focus on transformation. Her career has included managing legal matters across procurement, capital raisings and acquisitions, commercial contracts, intellectual property, information technology, financial services, litigation, employee relations and corporate governance. René has led multidisciplinary teams and has a passion for reviewing and optimising ways of working in a way that balances legal, regulatory, risk and operational considerations.

Steve is Chief Partnerships and Ventures Officer at Capricorn Society and responsible for the management of the supply, corporate development and innovation functions of the Capricorn Group.

Steve has a proven track record across 20 years in Senior Executive, General Management and CEO positions leading organisations across diverse international markets and industries. He has demonstrated experience in significantly improving financial performance and growth through corporate development across both service and capital-intensive businesses.

Steve has held senior positions with both public and private organisations, including Wesfarmers, Worleyparsons, Matrix Composites and Engineering and Skill Hire.

Steve has a MBA from the University of Western Australia and Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from Heriot Watt University, Scotland.

Tracy Newman was appointed to the role of Chief People and Experience Officer in February 2025. She is a highly experienced Executive who has performed a variety of roles across People, Culture, Capability, Sales and Marketing functions. Tracy is passionate about strategic leadership and its ability to drive overall organisational engagement, capability and accountability, and has had extensive experience within large and complex businesses both in commercial and for purpose environments. Tracy’s People and Experience team at Capricorn, is responsible for bringing together the whole Capricorn Community, integrating the experience for our people, our Members and our Preferred Suppliers.

Tracy's previous experience includes Executive Manager – People, Culture and Quality at Activ Foundation and Executive Director, People and Culture at Minderoo Foundation/Tattarang.

Prior to these executive roles, Tracy had a successful career in senior roles at Mondelez International (Cadbury and Kraft consumer goods) where she held multiple roles across People and Culture, Commercial, Strategy and Organisational Development. In her time at Mondelez, Tracy led sales transformation initiatives and oversaw key supplier relationships within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Industry.

Tracy has an MBA from Deakin University and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
