Capricorn is proud to have returned $108.5 million back to Members for their spend with Capricorn in the last financial year.
These Member Returns include a $21 million Trade Rebate, a 7 cent per share divided and Rewards Points on eligible purchases, recognising the support of Members and the strength of our Community.
Trade Rebates – $21 million returned
This year, Capricorn will have returned $21 million in Rewards Points to Members through the Interim Trade Rebate & final Trade Rebate. Your Trade Rebate is paid as additional Rewards Points, giving you even more value from your everyday trading activity through the Capricorn Trade Account.
Earlier this year, Capricorn introduced an Interim Trade Rebate for the first time, returning $15.5 million to Members sooner and helping businesses navigate rising fuel costs. The final Trade Rebate will be allocated in September, bringing the total value returned through Trade Rebate to $21 million.
Your Trade Rebate is based on how much you spent using your Capricorn Trade Account. The more you spent, the more Rewards Points you received.
Ordinary Dividend – 7 cents per share
If you’re a Shareholder in Capricorn, you also received a dividend of 7 cents per share – fully franked in Australia and partially franked in New Zealand (effective 10% gross dividend yield where full franking credits are available). It’s another way Capricorn shares its success with Members.
Dividends are paid back in two ways based on the number of shares you held on 30 June 2026:
- You can reinvest back into shares, which will appear on your Capricorn Trade Account September statement as well as a dividend letter; or
- Receive an EFT payment, which will be credited to your nominated bank account and the details will be provided via a dividend letter later in October.
Reward Points - $63.2 million earned
Capricorn Members earned more than $63 million in Rewards Points through their everyday trading activity in FY2026. For every $1 you spent on eligible purchases through your Trade Account, you receive 1.5 Rewards Points. These Points can be redeemed in a variety of ways, helping Members get even more value from their everyday trading activity.
Member Returns FAQS:
How does the Trade Rebate work?
- Automatic and easy: Capricorn calculates your rebate based on your eligible spend through your Trade Account over the past financial year.
- Proportional to your spend: The more you spend, the bigger your share of the Rebate. It’s a simple way to reward loyalty and support for the Capricorn Community.
- Paid as Rewards Points: Your Trade Rebate is paid as additional Rewards Points. The Interim Trade Rebate, covering eligible trade from 1 July 2025 to 31 March 2026, was allocated in May. Your final Trade Rebate, covering eligible trade from 1 April 2026 to 30 June 2026, will be allocated to your Capricorn Trade Account September statement (issued in October).
- No expiry pressure: Your points don’t expire quickly, so you can use them when it suits you, whether that’s buying new tools, booking a holiday and more.
You don’t need to do anything
- You don't need to apply or fill out any forms. The Trade Rebate is automatically calculated and allocated to eligible Members.
Dividends and franking
If you're a Capricorn Shareholder, you may have noticed that your dividend comes with something called a “franking credit”. This is a tax benefit that helps avoid double taxation, once at the company level and again when you receive the dividend.
Here’s how it works:
In Australia – Fully franked shares
- In Australia, Capricorn dividends are fully franked. This means Capricorn has already paid tax on the profits used to pay your dividend. You get a franking credit for that tax, which you can use to reduce your own tax bill. In some cases, if your income is low, you might even get a refund from the ATO.
In New Zealand – Partially franked shares
- In New Zealand, Capricorn dividends are partially franked. This means only part of the dividend has had tax paid on it by Capricorn. You’ll still get a franking credit, but it will be smaller. You may need to pay some tax on the rest of the dividend, depending on your personal tax situation.
The franking system is different in each country, so it’s a good idea to speak with your accountant or tax advisor to understand how it applies to you.
How can you use your Rewards Points?
Your Rewards Points are flexible and valuable. Here’s how you can use them:
- Buy equipment: Redeem points for tools, workshop equipment or office supplies.
- Treat yourself: Use points for travel or gift cards.
- Pay off your Trade Account: Use Rewards Points to pay your Trade Account.
Why does Capricorn provide Member Returns?
Capricorn is a cooperative, which means we exist to benefit our Members, not external shareholders. When Capricorn does well, so do our Members. Member Returns, including Rewards Points, Trade Rebates and dividends, are some of the ways Capricorn shares success with Members while helping businesses grow and thrive.
