Mark Cooper: "Yeah, I opened my business in September 1995, so nearly 29 years ago now. When I first opened, I had a visit from the Capricorn rep. John Rundle at the time. He started talking to me about Capricorn and, and the value of being a Capricorn Member.
After John had explained the value proposition of Capricorn I said, what's the downside? He said, there is no downside. I said, fine. Sign me up.
I opened up my Capricorn account the day I opened up my business, which was fantastic. I think everyone that joins Capricorn feels connected, closer to the industry and their peers. You get to meet a whole bunch of people that are in automotive businesses and in the same space that you are, and through those connections you tend to be able to find solutions to a lot of your business problems. It's great because you get to understand that you're not alone.
Everybody has the same problems. And when you start to share that, connect with people in social events such as, dinner and displays, trade shows and the Capricorn convention you understand what that wider community actually provides for you. One of the things I'm most proud of is being part of the Capricorn Board. And also being elected to the role of Chair of the Board in 2019.
It's great to have that vote of confidence from your fellow directors, to be able to elect you into that role. And it's been a privilege and an honour to hold that role. And something that I'll never forget. Capricorn super power I don't think there's one.
I think there's many. But if I was to call out one specific superpower I think it's the value proposition it not only gives to Members but the value proposition it gives to Suppliers. It's a win win. What an amazing achievement Capricorn being around for 50 years.
It's certainly been a privilege and an honour to be part of the Capricorn journey."

In the 2022 floods, we got completely wiped out. Capricorn went down on the site as soon as the water subsided.

It was just really lovely to see that I had a community, to see that there was a community that I didn't have to build that was done for me, that I could just literally walk into a room and make friends.
