I love what I do. I get a lot of enjoyment out of this trade, and I still have a lot to give back.

Geoff Mockford:

I've been in this industry for almost 55 years now. Left school when I was 14. I only wanted to be a motor mechanic. My father was a mechanic.

My son's a mechanic. It's in the family, in the blood, and we love it. I grew up around a lot of old cars. I was exposed to, as a little boy being taken for drives in some of these classic British cars.

It’s what my background is and where my passion is. I'm also very proud I’ve worked with a lot of people over the years. I like to think that most of them think well of me. Been a lot of young men that have done apprenticeships under me, have gone on to do well in the trade.

That means a lot to me as well. We've got a lot of skills and knowledge in this place that is getting hard to find. And it's nice to have somebody keen to learn that and carry it on because there's going to be a demand for it. One of the best business decisions I ever made was joining Capricorn.

We try and use it as much as possible. You know, if there's a Capricorn supplier we'll use them. It makes perfect sense. And, you know I think it's probably a requirement, a standard, to become a Capricorn supplier.

So, you know you're dealing with somebody good anyway. I love what I do. I can't do everything I used to do, obviously, but I get a lot of enjoyment out of this trade. I still got a lot to give back, I think.

and, you know, I plan to keep going as long as I can. I have no intention at all of slowing down.

It takes an army to get here. So, we couldn't do it without our guys, without people like Capricorn, without our suppliers.

It really is about relationships, mutual support, and friendships. And I don't think that's going to change no matter what happens with the automotive industry or the car parc.
